Senator Boxer and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood visited Los Angeles to highlight the more than $1 billion the county has received in transportation investments through the Recovery Act.

Senator Boxer thanks some of Solyndra’s hard-working employees. In September 2009, Solyndra received a $535 million DOE federal loan supported by ARRA to build a large-scale manufacturing plant for solar panels.  Solyndra estimates that the construction of phase one of the “Fabrication 2” manufacturing plant will create 3,000 temporary construction jobs, and 1,000 permanent production jobs.
