Boxer Statement on Fatal Explosion in San Bruno  

Los Angeles, CA – U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) today made the following statement regarding the fatal explosion Thursday evening in San Bruno:

“This explosion was a tragedy and I extend my deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones. To those recovering from injury, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

“I have been in contact with Congresswoman Jackie Speier, National Transportation Safety Board Chairman Deborah Hersman and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s office. We need to work together to ensure that no stone is left unturned in the investigation of what caused this tragedy, and we must do everything we can to help the community recover and rebuild.”

Senator Boxer plans to visit San Bruno tomorrow to see the damage first-hand and meet with federal, state and local officials about efforts to help the community recover from the tragedy.
