Senator Boxer: New Website Celebrates Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month
Monday, May 9, 2011
Dear Friend:
The Library of Congress recently launched a new website honoring Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month 2011. To visit this website, please click here.
One of the many interesting features you’ll find here honors the contributions of Asian and Pacific Islander military veterans, including the famous “Go For Broke” Regiment (click here to view).
In October 2010, Congress enacted my bill granting the Congressional Gold Medal to the “Go For Broke” Regiment, the brave Japanese-Americans who served in the 100th Infantry Battalion, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, and the Military Intelligence Service during World War II. Throughout the month of May, I hope you’ll continue to join me in celebrating Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month and the great contributions that Asian and Pacific Islander Americans have made to our nation.
Sincerely,
U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer
