Senator Boxer: Protecting Communities and Saving Lives
Friday, June 10, 2011
This week the Senate Commerce Committee passed the SPECTRUM Act, an important bill I co-sponsored that would create a nationwide network to help our first responders protect communities and save lives.
With this new broadband network, firefighters would be able to download detailed floor plans before rushing into burning buildings, and EMTs would be able to send pictures from an accident scene to doctors in the emergency room.
