Today, as Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, I held a hearing to review the Clean Air Act and its public health benefits. Signed into law in 1970 by President Richard Nixon, the Clean Air Act has been one of the most successful and significant environmental laws in our nation's history.
