Senator Boxer: Giving More Contra Costa Kids an Early Head Start
Thursday, August 19, 2010
Dear Friend:
There are 170 more infants and toddlers in Contra Costa County who will soon have access to Early Head Start, a program which has been proven to improve a child’s readiness to learn, performance in school, and health.
That’s because the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recently announced a $2 million Recovery Act grant to the Community Services Bureau, which operates Early Head Start programs at eight sites around Contra Costa County.
As a strong supporter of Early Head Start, I am pleased that this investment will help more children in Contra Costa County get the start in life that they need and deserve.
Sincerely,
U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer
