Senator Boxer: Protecting the Coast and Creating Jobs in Mendocino County

Friday, September 21, 2012

Dear Friend:

Yesterday, Senator Dianne Feinstein and I introduced legislation to expand the boundary of the California Coastal National Monument to include the Point Arena-Stornetta Public Lands in Mendocino County.  We also wrote to President Obama, asking him to accomplish this important goal by using his executive authority to include these lands in the National Monument.  To read more about our bill, click here; to read our letter to the President, click here.

Expanding the National Monument will preserve this spectacular coastal area and help boost Mendocino County’s tourism economy, which supports 5,000 jobs.  Working together, we can preserve these magnificent lands for future generations to enjoy.

Sincerely,

Barbara Boxer, US Senator, California
U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer
