Senator Boxer: Judiciary Committee Approves Bernal Nomination

Today the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to approve Jesus Bernal’s nomination to serve on the U.S. District Court in Riverside. I recommended Mr. Bernal to President Obama, who nominated him in April.  To read more, please click here.

If confirmed by the full Senate, Jesus Bernal would be the only Latino District Court judge serving the Central District’s Eastern Division, which includes Riverside and San Bernardino counties.  I am confident that his extensive experience handling complex criminal and civil cases will make him an outstanding addition to the federal bench.
